Female Menopause

Signs and Symptoms

As we lose our hormones with the approach of menopause, we find our energy production significantly decreased and limited. This situation occurs for a number of reasons. The connection between a woman's energy levels and menopause:
  1. Hormone depletion causes sleep disturbances- hot flashes, night sweats, all lead to insomnia, inability to fall asleep or to stay asleep. Frequent urination is also a side-effect of hormone loss and the result is exhaustion during the day.
  2. Eating habits affect energy production especially at menopause when hormone balance is very delicate and easily disturbed by poor eating habits. As we near menopause, we develop more food allergies and intolerance for starches, processed foods, alcohol and soda. The result is that if our diet is not very high in protein and complex carbohydrates, we are suffering with hormone depletion and severe fatigue caused by poor energy production at the cellular level.
  3. Sedentary lifestyle affect menopausal women more than their younger counterparts. During exercise or even moderate physical activity, hormone production, endorphins, improve hormone balance and affect energy production, If our lifestyle is sedentary, energy production lags behind and we find ourselves exhausted.
  4. Relationship drain. If we are involved in negative relationships, at menopause when we need every spare drop of energy, we find ourselves drained and exhausted.
